📨 Weekly digest: 14 2024 | How do we build businesses that survive the next big threats with AI?
We are writing our own story, but why do we keep on failing? | AI this week in the news; use cases; for the techies
“When it started, I couldn’t have predicted that it was going to be like this, this change.”—Tim Berners-Lee, Inventor World Wide Web
Hello friends,
Sarah is bold; she’s an entrepreneur who built her business from the ground up. Success coursed through her veins, but a few years ago, whispers of a new storm—Artificial Intelligence—reached her ears. Fear, a serpent long dormant, reared its head.
One evening, Sarah stumbled upon an article. A similar business, clinging to tradition, was swallowed by an AI-wielding competitor. A cold sweat prickled her skin. But then, she read another story: a rival who embraced AI, soaring to new heights with an empowered workforce.
A spark ignited in Sarah's eyes. She gathered her team, a mix of experience and youthful energy. Her voice, firm but hopeful, laid out the challenge: "The future is here. We can cling to the past or become the architects of our evolution."
The room crackled with a mix of apprehension and excitement. Sarah proposed a pilot project: a dedicated team to explore AI's potential. Weeks turned into months, and the results were both astounding and difficult to understand. AI streamlined processes identified inefficiencies and even predicted equipment failures. However, AI also showed disproportions, lack of clarity, and unethical results.
We are all witnessing a transformation, knowing it will be forever changing. The future is uncertain, but with courage, collaboration, and a willingness to embrace change, we can survive disruption and emerge stronger and more innovative.
But many questions occur as AI is taking over:
How does AI help us build businesses that thrive?
Does AI have all the answers? Will AI help us save the world?
Will we be able to take ownership of our data across all platforms?
Can we trust the people in the tech monopolies platform won’t harm us (more)?
Do we all need personal assistants?
Do we all need to be over-equipped?
Where do we place our privacy (new) limits?
What do you think?
