📨 Weekly digest: 5 2024 | We are ABSOLUTELY underestimating the impact of AI on our lives
What artificial intelligence really means is far from what you think | AI this week in the news; use cases; for the techies
Hello friends,
What artificial intelligence means for most of us is far from what's happening in reality: most people need much clarification on what Generative AI means or will mean for their business.
Yet, coders and marketers see a lot of automation very soon.
2023 was in many ways the year of exploration for generative AI – from ChatGPT quickly surpassing 100 million monthly active users to Dictionary.com selecting its Word of the Year (hallucinate) because of AI's tendency to produce false information or AI's viral Lego x Hermès collaboration1.
AI also presented many questions within the business units industry, like 'What impact will this technology have on the organization?', 'What are AI's biggest risks and limitations?' and 'How can we best use AI in our activities?'.
Every day, we are overwhelmed with so much news about AI that it's increasingly difficult to distinguish signal from noise.
As a result, we soon found ourselves with a brittle understanding of AI and often nodded in agreement about something in the space I didn't quite understand.
AI-powered technologies have the potential to help solve complex issues and make our daily lives easier and more convenient. AI can increase access to education, enhance productivity, and improve healthcare.
Our creativity is about to get massively amplified. But first, we need to put context and a sense of purpose to use artificial intelligence wisely.
What do you think?
Looking forward to reading your thoughts in a comment.
Happy days,
Yael and al.
